What is a production control system?

A production control system is a computer system that monitors the status of the different production processes to extract information from the plant status in real time. The main objective is to help in the optimization of processes and resources, contributing to the continuous improvement of operations. In this way, a production control monitors the entire production process, collecting precise data in real time. On the one hand, it serves to exploit all the information helping production managers in decision making and on the other, to exchange all the necessary information on performance and consumption with the ERP.
