INGESOM modifies the program of a cardboard laminating and gluing machine in Brazil

INGESOM performs technical assistance on a cardboard laminating and gluing machine in a factory in Brazil for Control Techniques, a world leader in the design and production of electronic variable speed drives for the control of electric motors based in Newtown, Wales. It has dedicated production and R&D facilities around the world, along with automation centers in 45 locations around the globe.
Control Techniques is a Nidec company, one of the world’s leading manufacturers of drives for a variety of technologies found in a wide range of applications, including computers, cell phones, home appliances, automobiles, manufacturing plants and robots, among others. It has approximately 300 subsidiaries and 140,000 employees worldwide, with annual sales in excess of $14.7 billion.
The cardboard machine was not well configured, the blade did not cut the pieces according to the size established by the technicians, so that some of the pieces produced were not suitable for sale, since the adhesive labels did not match the cardboard boxes where they were to be glued according to the specifications of the end customer.
INGESOM modifies the program parameters so that the machine has the right configuration and makes the necessary electrical and mechanical adjustments so that the adhesive sheets and pre-cut pieces of cardboard fit perfectly. In addition, all electrical equipment is checked to reduce maintenance problems in the future, reducing possible human error and facilitating the work of the operators.
With these improvements, the speed on the production line has almost doubled, the number of defective parts has decreased and there are no snags in the production steps. In conclusion, the productivity of the cartoning machine has increased significantly with a consequent increase in profits for the end customer.
